“After French post company GeoPost, owner of DPD Lietuva, purchased company that deals with parcels delivery in Greece, boarders and possibilities of DPD network were broadened. This is one of the last EU countries where to we didn’t transport parcels from Lithuania. Lithuanian companies are increasingly interested in Greece as in a market of potential consumers, therefore we are glad to enter it together with our customers”, - states DPD Lietuva manager of sales and marketing for Baltic countries Gintaras Bingelis.

Our company’s sales grew up almost equally around 40% during 2005 and 2006. The growth is determined by constant investments in development and modernization of business, improvement of services. This phenomena is also influenced by the stable growth of parcels delivery service market and it’s created competitive circumstances, clear distribution of market participants also allows to plan precisely our actions in order to grow further quite new market”, - said Gintaras Bingelis, DPD Lietuva sales and marketing director.
According to him, company plans similar growth, around 40%, this year too.
GeoPost, owner of DPD Lietuva and a subsidiary of the French group La Poste, recorded a turnover of €2.969 billion in 2006. It represents growth of almost 16% on 2005. In just five years, GeoPost has almost doubled its turnover and has reached a level of profitability which bears comparison with the best in the profession.
GeoPost, a major player on the international express BtoB delivery market, reached second place in Europe on the express parcel market in terms of volume – 500 million express parcels carried in 2006 – on behalf of 300,000 customers.
An offensive acquisition strategy in France, with Exapaq, in Greece with Interattica and in Spain with new Seur franchises, alongside very strong organic growth, enabled the company to enjoy this exceptional growth rate. The results also benefited from the group’s good performances on growth markets, particularly those of Central and Eastern Europe.
The GeoPost group, with leader subsidiaries on the various domestic markets, and thanks to its top quality European transport network, has now reached third place in Europe for express parcels in terms of turnover.

Parcels courier service leader in Lithuania company “DPD Lietuva” has finished it's second re-branding stage - in all Baltic countries it has developed new differentiation of DPD services before named by single name “Bizpak”.
“We have separated four products titles for Baltic region, two international product titles and nine additional services titles. With the unification of services and products titles in all three DPD companies in Baltic countries the “Bizpak” re-branding history is symbolically ending and we expect to strengthen our positions even more in Baltic countries region and entire Europe”, - said “DPD Lietuva” Director of Sales and Marketing for Baltic States Gintaras Bingelis.
According to him, unified services and products titles will enhance customers’ reliance and facilitate their decision and perception which service will be the most convenient to the moment.
“Services and their possibilities for business will remain the same after changing the brand and names of these services. We will continue to seek that every customer would get reliable, high quality logistics solution that meets customers requirements and we will be investing into the new products development”, - said Gintaras Bingelis, “DPD Lietuva” the Director of Sales and Marketing for Baltic States.
“DPD Lietuva” leadership made the decision to change their brand in June 2006 and planes to complete re-branding process from Bizpak to DPD till 2008.
Small parcel delivery service “DPD” rendering company „DPD Lietuva“ has delivered 2,1 million parcels during year 2006. It is 33,9 % more than in 2005, when company delivered 1,6 million parcels.
The late years company results and constantly accomplishing market researches are showing that the sector of parcel shipping services in Lithuania is growing stably, and market players, who meet growing needs of their regular clients has already settled in Lithuania“, - said Gintaras Bingelis, “DPD Lietuva” Sales and Marketing Director for the Baltic States.
According to him, despite the growing value of post shipments market and increasing amount of parcels, logistics is not among company’s business management areas priorities in our country.
„With reference to statistical data, we are in the last place in Europe by sent parcels amount per one resident. The main reason of it is extremely simple attitude of managers to logistics, control of its processes and setting of tasks. Lithuanian businessmen do not fully evaluate the value that logistics create for business, as they do not count benefits of service in a long-term perspective“, - said G. Bingelis.
According to him, the main criterion for selecting the service remains its cost. Besides, businessmen do not commit enough time and humane resources to analyze and to decide how to use the service effectively, for it would become a tool that would create added value for business and in the same time financial benefit.
„Due to these reasons one of the most important tasks for logistics specialists is to consult businessmen, to form a correct attitude to company‘s logistics, its measure and role in business development “, - said G. Bingelis.
In 2006 small parcels delivery company decided to change its name from „Baltic Logistic System Vilnius“ to „DPD Lietuva“ and the brand from „Bizpak“ to „DPD“. And in December 2006 it has ended the first stage of re-branding. In January of this year „DPD Lietuva“ suggested two new delivery routs for Lithuanian market – delivery of parcels to the new EU countries – Bulgaria and Romania.
Starting with January 2, 2007, the company of parcels delivery service “DPD Lietuva” suggested two new parcels delivery routes for Lithuanian market. Since the beginning of this year from Lithuania, and contrary, parcels will be transported to the new member countries of EU – Bulgaria and Romania. In Europe, DPD network became the first operator of parcels delivery by road transport which carries parcels to these countries.
Alhough just yesterday Romania and Bulgaria became member countries of EU block, the growth of economy in these countries is noticeable for some time already. Opened borders will reduce the expenditure on logistics and allow parcels to move freely between these and other EU countries, therefore the development of business will increase in these countries even more. Furthermore, we are sure that the new routes will stimulate the development of DPD network in the Central and Southern Europe”, - said Gintaras Bingelis, “DPD Lietuva” Sales and Marketing Director For Baltic States.
According to him, the economic potential became the main reason why DPD management made a decision to open new parcels delivery routes for businessmen of European countries.
“We want to suggest our customers a possibility to reach a proper point at the most wide diapason in the Europe. During short time parcels will be delivered from Central Europe to these countries for markedly lower price compared to that used to pay to other suppliers of the service”, – said G. Bingelis.
To his opinion, shipping parcels from Vilnius to Bucharest will take 5 working days, from Vilnius to Sophia – 6 working days. In Bulgaria and Romania parcels will be delivered by GeoPost Group companies „GeoPost Cargus“ and „GeoPost Bulgaria“.
At the moment “DPD Lietuva” delivers parcels to 23 and from 18 EU countries.
