DPD Lietuva
“DPD Lietuva”, company which provides parcel delivery services in Lithuania and other European countries, launched new parcel sorting terminal which covers almost 4000 square meters, is the biggest in Lithuania and one of the most modern company’s specialized terminals in The Baltic states. New terminal is capable of sorting and distributing up to 40 000 parcels per working day.
“Our work experience shows that more and more companies choose professional logistics services for costs and time savings. This is very important in today’s economic environment, - says Vytautas Kudzys, Director General, “DPD Lietuva“. – We are certain our new parcel sorting and distributing terminal will satisfy the growing needs of parcel delivery services: parcels are sorted faster, so couriers can deliver them earlier. Established good working conditions will allow to maintain high quality of services even if the number of parcels rises significantly”.
There are 111 gates for couriers‘ cars to load and unload parcels in the new terminal. Furthermore, most modern parcel sorting and distributing technologies are implemented in terminal, conditions are made to control every parcel movement from unloading till loading. Total length of the conveyers is more than a half kilometer long.
According to “DPD Lietuva“ Director General, the parcel sorting and distributing technologies used in new terminal allow developing additional services especially dedicated to business-to-private customer (B2C) segment. “Thanks to the new terminal, we will be able to work even more intensively with the clients who require that ordered goods would be delivered directly to the customer”, - he confirms.
Vytautas Kudzys also says that the decision to open new parcel distribution terminal next to border of Vilnius and newly opened Southern Vilnius bypass hasn’t been made accidentally: this location establishes conditions for effective company’s work: cars can reach main roads faster and more efficiently without traveling through the city. Also “DPD Lietuva” contributes to reducing traffic jams and pollution. “We are not only trying to satisfy the needs of market, we are concerned about environment problems too”, - he emphasizes.
New “DPD Lithuania” administrational office is also established next to the new terminal. DPD Lietuva invested 21,8 million litas (more than 6,3 million euro) into new parcel sorting terminal.
Dear Partners, We would like to inform you that starting with 24th November 2008 DPD Lietuva office and our parcel sorting terminal will be located by new address - Liepkalnio str. 180, LT – 02121 Vilnius. As regards contacts, they will stay the same - company details, email addresses, telephones and fax numbers.
Willingness to meet increasing customer demands and to be in time with business propel us to invest into latest equipment and facilities, constant improvement of technological parcel delivery process and service quality. Nowadays a special attention is pointed out to e-commerce and direct goods delivery to the end consumer which is called B2C (business-to-consumer service). The current business environment and future demands became the main driving force to increase our operational premises.
Sincerely yours, DPD Lietuva

Parceline, the British provider of standard and Express parcel services, is planning to relinquish its name and adopt the international DPD brand.
Aschaffenburg, 18 February 2008 – From now on the British provider of standard and express parcel services Parceline will be operating under the DPD brand. The company, which is part of France's GeoPost Group, intends to benefit from DPD's international strength in order to expand its share of international shipping, which is growing considerably faster than the domestic market. In the past two years DPD has significantly expanded its brand profile in Europe, with DPD partners in the Benelux countries, the Baltic states and most recently in Poland and Russia giving up their own brand in favour of the red and black DPD logo. In the UK the rebranding process is to be completed by March 31st.
Parceline has been DPD's franchise partner in the UK since 1995. The company operates 42 depots in the UK and has recently invested 75 million euros in the construction of a new hub in the Midlands. This new hub in Oldbury is the most modern and technologically most advanced in the UK, and is served by the largest fleet of vehicles in the industry. Over the last few years DPD has developed into an integrated international system and today has the most efficient road-based network in Europe. "Under the DPD brand we will improve our recognition as an international service provider," confirms Kay Phillips.
Arnold Schroven, CEO of DPD GmbH & Co. KG in Aschaffenburg, is also convinced that "Parceline will benefit from the strength of the DPD brand, and at the same time our network will receive additional reinforcement from this new exposure on Europe's second-largest market for standard and express parcels."
